Mythos North is a Vancouver-based creative studio founded on over a decade of production experience across the world's leading animation and VFX pipelines. What We Do

Studio Services

Environment Modelling
Large-scale organic environment builds, terrain generation, vegetation systems, and procedural scatter workflows optimised for feature animation pipelines.
Surfacing & Lookdev
Production surfacing in Arnold, Mari, and Katana. Shader development, texture pipeline management, and lookdev workflows built for downstream rendering.
Groom & CFX
Hero character hair, fur, and feather systems in Xgen and Yeti. Cloth and dynamic rig simulation. Expression-driven groom pipelines for animated features.
Pipeline & Tooling
Custom Maya pipeline tools in Python/PyQt — asset publish, validation, shader management, renaming, LOD standin export, and path remapping utilities.
Vegetation & Foliage
SpeedTree, Maya PFX, and MASH-driven foliage systems. Set dressing at scale for feature animation — instancing, complexity management, and downstream optimisation.
Cross-Dept Integration
Asset hand-offs, pipeline troubleshooting, and QA between Modelling, Rigging, FX, Lookdev, and Layout. ShotGrid/Flow coordination across production departments.

Building the Mythos North
Production Pipeline

We are building a full in-house Maya production pipeline from the ground up — covering every stage of the Modelling, Surfacing, and Groom asset lifecycle. Every tool is authored in Python with PyQt/PySide interfaces, designed around asset validation, metadata conventions, and QA-gating that protects downstream department workflows. The pipeline also includes GFBuild, a proprietary Maya plugin for procedural groom and foliage construction with curve-based guide connectivity for hair, fur, and grass simulation workflows.
